Age and ID rules
Under 25? Bring accepted photo ID.
Gay saunas, adult cinemas and lifestyle clubs are strictly 18+ spaces. If you look under 25, you must provide valid photo ID proving you are at least 18.
What Challenge 25 means
If you look under 25, staff will ask to see photo ID, even if you are well over 18. It is not a judgement about you; it is a simple rule that keeps these strictly adults-only venues safe and lawful. If you might be asked, just have an accepted document ready before you arrive.
ID must be an original physical document. Accepted examples include:
- Valid passport
- UK or EU photo driving licence, full or provisional
- PASS proof-of-age card
- UK Armed Forces ID
- EU national identity card
These are not accepted as proof of age:
- Birth certificates
- Student cards
- Library cards
- Expired documents
- Screenshots or photos of ID
- Photocopies or printouts
- Uncertified digital ID
Accepted ID needs to show the essential checks clearly:
- A clear recent photo
- Your date of birth
- A hologram, UV mark or recognised security feature
Certified digital ID schemes may only be accepted where the venue confirms they are supported.
Staff may refuse entry where ID is missing, unclear, expired, inconsistent, damaged, or does not meet the required standard.
Entry refusals may be recorded with the date, time and reason as part of venue compliance procedures.
